To encourage Black boys to read more, give them books with characters that look like them. In addition, expose them to a wide variety of subjects, familiar interests, like basketball, and new ideas, like marine biology. Topics covered include literacy, marine biology, sibling with autism, violin, baking, invention, family life, sports, death of a parent, voting, city life, overcoming fears, architecture, fun with mother, loving outdoor play and more.
