Description “Strength of Two – Negwegon State Park at Sunset“ This is a typical view of the beautiful combination of untouched beach and forest that is not too common anywhere in the world these days. This is one of the biggest aspects which makes Negwegon State Park such a very special place. While these aren’t classified as “old growth” forests – yet. The evidence of man in these forests is indeed hard to find. The woods have largely reclaimed the earth here. In a world of “lakefront property” it is refreshing to be able to spend a day alone with God’s creation and think about the intricate detail and glory that He has created for us to use, enjoy, and protect. Twin Pines Campsite This is the view facing south(ish) at the Twin Pines Campsite here at Negwegon. Seeing these two beautiful & stately pines – which are surrounded by their “family” – is a testament to the strength of two. The winds and weather of Lake Huron has surely buffeted against them for their entire life. Yet, they stand firmly rooted and have grown together to stand strong and reach up towards the heavens. Some thoughts… God’s word is clear. We are not meant to walk this earth alone. It is one reason why God created the union of marriage. From the very beginning in Genesis, we were not meant to walk alone. We gain strength from one another and benefit from following His design and plan for us. In my younger adult life, I never thought I would get married. I was – in my mind – destined to walk alone through life. God had other plans. Meeting and marrying my better half, Jessica changed my life in so many ways that I could never have imagined. It is easy to see, now that I look back, just how perfect God’s plan for the two of us was. I am so blessed and so very grateful. Here’s how the Holy Spirit revealed this to Solomon in Ecclesiastes: (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12) “¶ Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. {10} For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. {11} Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? {12} And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Negwegon State Park Beach – Alcona County MI – Sunset at Twin Pines Enjoy!
